My background includes yoga, Ayurveda, and science and I bring these perspectives into everything I do.
I have been practicing yoga for over a decade and teaching yoga for over 6 years. I came to yoga to help heal myself from chronic illness, but have stayed with it because of the other gifts it has given me.
My other interest is Ayurveda, which I have read about for decades. Following my YTT (yoga teacher training), I became an Ayurveda Yoga Specialist through the Himalayan Institute and then had the privilege of studying with Dr. Vasant Lad when he was in New York. Finally, I am also a scientist.
My background is neuroscience, but I left research to focus on teaching about 13 years ago. I have never regretted it. So I am a teacher by trade as well. I teach biology and anatomy/physiology in person, but have taught chemistry online for the last 9 years. I have also been designing and teaching online courses for 16 years. This is what has brought me to this point.
Teaching yoga and Ayurveda online brings all my interests together...yoga, Ayurveda, science, teaching, and online learning. What could be better!! You will find that the online learning environment is different than in person, but in many ways it can be deeper and richer. You have time to delve into subjects and can take your time to think about what another student says and respond when you are ready. I love teaching online and have enjoyed learning online many times as well. I hope you find the same enjoyment from it and discover your passion as well.
